The key to a successful LED installation is two-fold: choosing the right technologies and mounting them effectively. LED (light emitting diode) displays are gaining in popularity. The brighter, longer-lasting technology provides a seamless result.

LED monitors provide color accuracy and range, as well as clarity, contrast, and brightness. The nature of LED signage is that lightweight modules are interchangeable and easy to maintain.

While the mounting structures play a behind-the-scenes role for show-stopping installations, they’re critical to creating that experience. The right mounts and structures must suit the solution and the environment, even if that requires customization.

Understanding Mounting Systems and Structures

An LED display may be an obvious choice for your space, but the mounting structures may seem like more of a mystery. Consider whether your installation will be freestanding, wall-mounted, or mobile. Will it be flown, meaning it’s suspended or hung from above? Will it be curved or be mounted around a corner?

The mounting solutions will affect everything from safety, signage viewing, and the seamlessness of images. Some mounts also offer matching trim accessories, and some are even adjustable. By choosing the right kind and quality of mounts, you can simplify your LED solution installation.

Choosing the Right Mounting System

Some installations are simple and only require off-the-shelf mounts and structures. These are designed for common array sizes and are easy to install.

If your LED wall installation is beyond basic, the required mounting may also be more complex. You can get solutions tailored for a variety of shapes, sizes, locations, and environments. An expert in LED mounts and structures like Draper can provide recommendations and customization. Draper engineers collaborate with display manufacturers to create unique solutions that work for their specific displays.

Draper’s mount solutions are categorized into three categories. Core Solutions work with many standard displays and are installed with little to no customization. Advanced Solutions may be customized to an extent. Tailored Solutions are completely customized. Draper’s teams work directly with clients to design, manufacture, and install mounts and structures that support their goals.

Learn More with This Course

In partnership with Draper, we will be presenting a live virtual course on LED technology and the elements of a proper support structure.

The webinar, “LED Technology and Mounting Structures,” will address LED display uses, performance, and benefits, including longevity, brightness, modular design, and seamless viewing. We’ll also cover how to choose the perfect mounting system for your LED solutions.

Participants will learn how to:
Compare and contrast LED, LCD, and projection technologies
Analyze pixel pitch, viewing distances, and other critical factors when evaluating LED display systems
Assess the adjustment capabilities and attachment details for walls, floors, and ceilings, when choosing an LED mounting system

You can also earn 1 AVIXA CTS renewal unit by attending. Here’s more information about the webinar:
