As a member of the PSNI Global Alliance for less than a year, Display Systems AS considers itself a rookie among its PSNI peers. But as a leader in the audiovisual integration industry since 2006, the company, based in Skedsmokorset just outside the Norwegian capital of Oslo, is anything but inexperienced.

“The company has been in the business for 14 years, and we have kept a stable workflow and size,” said Display Systems CEO Kjetil Edvardsen. “We often look upon ourselves as ‘nerds’ who share a common and true passion for technology. Its just a joy to go to work each day, and we take great pride in our integrity, work, and projects.”

Display Systems Provides Full Spectrum AV Services and Standards

Display Systems is qualified and prepared to provide the full spectrum of AV services—from design and installation through service and maintenance—for everything from corporate conference rooms to complex control rooms to specialized TV studios. Display Systems also has a small rental department for clients that need AV equipment for conventions and other large-scale events.

That full spectrum of services also includes leading the way for quality audiovisual service in Norway. Together with other integrators and distributors, Display Systems participated in IKT Norway, an independent organization, to form a new norm that has a goal of increasing the quality of audiovisual services across the country. Part of that norm, Kjetil said, is to make CTS certifications a requirement for Display Systems employees. The company has a goal to have everyone CTS certified, he said, and several technicians have already earned CTS certifications.

Most of Display Systems’ work is in and around the Oslo region, but the company has clients all around Norway and has completed several projects abroad. As new members of PSNI, Display Systems has not yet had the opportunity to collaborate on projects with other PSNI members, but they look forward to working together soon.

“We have started communicating with fellow PSNI members in preparations for possible partnerships,” Kjetil said. “It has been a pleasure to meet and get to know other members, and we have learned so much useful information.”

Service, Not Technology is the Future of AV

When it comes to the future of AV, there are plenty of buzzwords out there, and many integrators are eager to predict what technology will be the next big thing, Kjetil said. But for Display Systems, the future is less about what technology you deliver and more about how you deliver it.

“We believe the future is not so much depending on the technology itself, but more about how we as a business and industry provide it to our clients,” Kjetil said. “We already see a large rise in businesses delivering simple AV solutions. We see businesses that are focused on IT that also want to provide AV solutions for their clients. Based on this, we think we will see a lot more collaboration, partnerships, and possibilities emerge in the future, especially between traditional AV integrators and IT. AV integrators will also start providing their clients with more ‘all-inclusive’ services.”
