Susana Alvarez is no stranger to digital transformation. Her grandfather installed the first international satellite antenna in Argentina and, in 1989, she and her father became the first video conference service providers in the country. Today, as a third-generation audiovisual integrator and CEO of Buenos Aires-based Newtech Solutions Multimedia, Susana continues to push the envelope on AV innovation that helps people anywhere and everywhere connect.
“I love technology and the way that we can interconnect and connect with people,” Susana said. “If someone says, ‘I’m looking for A or B,’ we will always go out of our way to find that A or B. Everyone needs to connect in all the aspects of their lives. I love what we do, bringing people together.”
Newtech Uses Audiovisual Tools to Guide Customers’ Digital Transformations
Newtech is an AV consulting, implementation, and management services company specializing in Microsoft products. Three years ago, they merged with a company called SmartQube, a Microsoft-centered software development company.
“Since we started to work together, we have combined the two worlds of audiovisual and unified communications platform services,” Susana said, earning them a recognition award from Microsoft. “Being a managed partner and one of the key UC partners in Latin America, we help companies with their technology adoption and governance, change management, and collaboration solutions, including tools from the audiovisual world. Our goal is to integrate all these practices to make the best customer experience.”
In business for more than 30 years, Newtech has completed more than 580 projects around the world. The goal of all those projects, from corporate video conferencing systems to technical support to the integration of collaboration tools, is always the same: to transform the way people connect, communicate, and work.
“Through the development of solutions and technology, we work inside each company to guide them on the road of their own personal digital transformation and their path toward future jobs and the future of work,” Susana said.
In addition to consulting, management, and integration services, Newtech also operates an engineering division to provide technical support, training, and post-sales service. Newtech’s R&D department developed a Microsoft Teams-based workflow tool that is now available on the Microsoft Marketplace throughout Latin America.
“These new communication and collaboration tools and interactions enable both individual and organizational development,” Susana said. “Our focus is to generate a workspace transformation that achieves more productivity and efficiency in the way people collaborate in their daily jobs at every organization.”

The technologies and tools available to facilitate these digital transformations are always changing, Susana said, but then again, so is Newtech. “The technology is evolving in such a fast way, we have to be there to help our customers, understand where their pain is, and develop and integrate the right solutions for them,” Susana said. “From telework to huddle rooms to collaboration, and from HR to AV to IT security, all our tools and business areas have to be customer-centric. Our responsibility is to make things happen in the communication world. And in the communication world, everything is possible!
